The Afternoon Sun – Poets.org – Poetry, Poems, Bios & More

I recently came across Cavafy while reading How to Read a Poem, by Edward Hirsh. Tomorrow everyone is bringing a poem we like to our workshop, and I’m thinking of bringing this one.

Not much blogging in my life recently. I get home late and wake up early, which leaves little energy for writing the sort of this-and-that posts I used to write.

I’ve had Hirsh’s book on my “next” list for a long while. Cavafy’s poem moves it closer to getting read. Thanks for that!

Know you are busy, busy. Send you love and hugs!

Christine, if you are not blogging I guess its good, because you are out there in the real world. In my case even my work life is on the computer, as I freelance for magazines. I think I have a tennis elbow or something now! On top of that I have started a palmistry blog! Life is hectic, but all of it is on the computer! You know,I really miss your old blog and the posts you used to write!

Hi, Christine! Don’t worry about the blogging thing. I drop in to see what’s going on in your life, but I know you’re so very busy. Big hugs and yep…we’ll be around when you’re back. Have a great weekend!

What do you think of Hirsh’s book? I’ve heard mixed reviews.

I am struggling to find blogging time, and even more so, poeting. I did start writing a weekly summation of events though, because I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to forget the details of the experience of grad school.

Hope life is busy but blessed!

The only way you can read poetry is by forgetting everything all your premises and starting afresh and letting the words sway you ๐Ÿ™‚
